I was a Christian for the first 11 years of my life, and I never got (and still don't) how God sacrificing himself to himself to save us from a design flaw he originally put in was somehow "loving" and "merciful". Also, I don't think it's much of a sacrifice if after you die, you get to be a all-powerful superbeing.

Just saying...

How did you manage to become a christian on day one or even your first birthday. God did not sacrifice Himself to Himself. God the Son was sacrifced for us not to God the Father, you've been watching to many movies about gods outside of the Bible. Prove to me using scripture how God created man with flaws, the reason I ask for scriptures you yourself have said it's the only place to find things about God.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

And somehow I've got the impression of that the christianity was a monotheistic religion...
If God the Son is not God the Father then you have at least two different gods. correct me if I am wrong..Big Grin

He didn't? Could have fooled me...

Quote:God the Son was sacrifced for us not to God the Father,

So God was sacrificed, but not God? Leave the "Son" and "Father" out of it, as we know they're two separate entities in a way. However, you typed it out yourself, they're both GOD.

Quote:Prove to me using scripture how God created man with flaws, the reason I ask for scriptures you yourself have said it's the only place to find things about God.

Quote:6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

So, perfect beings screwed up... Doesn't seem so perfect to me.

Shall I list all the passages where humans end up dying? To die doesn't seem "perfect."
I like the way you think!
...But please stop thinking, it's not you.

That's the last place to go for answers.

Well it is to an aweful lot of Catholics.

When I was 5 years of age, I thought God was a shamrock. (Irish Catholic teachers)

That analogy was no longer altogether satisfying at age 12,so I asked again. I received a simple ,definitive, unarguable explanation, used by Catholics to this very day: "No one understands The Trinity,it's a mystery of faith and it's doctrine, you just believe it". Clear as mud.

Catholics consider the Trinity perhaps the most difficult theological concept. Transubstantiation is also pretty subtle. Drove an already deeply disturbed Martin Luther right over the edge.Angel Cloud

Catholics draft you on day one. They don't like to take any chances. Protestants prefer scaring the shit out of little kids for a number of years with all their bullshit stories of eternal damnation....well, you know. It worked in your case.

Shows how little you know about God and scriptures.

Quote:God the Son was sacrifced for us not to God the Father,

How is it possible to leave out the Father and Son, you also watch to many movies about gods outside the Bible. Read the NT and you will find the answer there.

Quote:Prove to me using scripture how God created man with flaws, the reason I ask for scriptures you yourself have said it's the only place to find things about God.

IceSage Wrote:6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. Those perfect people were given the freewill to make choices and they made the wrong one. God told them if they ate from that tree it would bring death, He gave them a warning and they chose to ignor that warning. It was not a design flaw it was disobedience on their part. Freewill is in no way a design flaw.

IceSage Wrote:Shall I list all the passages where humans end up dying? To die doesn't seem "perfect."

If you wish, please give only the book, chapter and verses that way it want take as long, also do not forget to include all the verses about the death of Jesus.

Now that's flaws on both accounts. I was an adult before I became a christian, and yes eternal damnation was part of my decision and why shouldn't it have been. Note I stated it was my choice and no one elses.
