How about the option to be able to gut innocents with your blades for sickos like me? Then you can turn it off if you aren't sick in the head, or are annoyed by desynchs.
And why no option in GTA 5 to have children walking about so you can accidentally beat them to death with a dildo?
Of course, shooting an unarmed adult in the back with a sniper rifle is totally cool. Because, you know, they're an adult.
OK I have problems And I understand why they don't put stuff like that in games. I just think it's a shame how taboos in reality extend to fictional environments like video games. Being able to shoot a child in the head with a sniper rifle would turn you into a maniac instantly!
It's not like you'd be forced to kill the children, I'm not suggesting it be part of the storyline. And like I say, have an option to remove them entirely for people who dislike the idea. The game is pretending children do not appear in the world.

It is odd that there are no children in GTA. With all the depravity that Trevor imparts upon the world, it might be best that people go from babies to fully formed adults immediately.

I think it was the tragic Native backstory with his mother being murdered by the colonists and then getting revenge for it. A native getting justice was almost impossible at the time in reality. It's a very modern narrative that almost certainly wouldn't have happened like that at the time, but one a modern audience would really root for.
Also yes its weird how children are mythical creatures in AC, I'm sure 3 was the only one you ever actually saw kids running around (those weird kids who ran after Connor making strange noises)

I've been playing through AC Unity recently, and I've noticed something
Is it just me, or is it pretty much impossible to do anything quietly in this game? The way all the enemies are crawling around in huge numbers like ants, it seems a given one will always see you. Then when one does see you, it seems like every Tom, Dick and Harry in France suddenly knows about it and runs to fight you.
Also Arno is so clumsy, the platforming controls on this game are probably the most stiff and frustrating they've ever been.
I do love this game as I love all ACs, but really we need patches for what is fixable (at least the clumsy platforming)

The platforming was the worst part. And that's the draw of this game. Seriously, climbing on shit and jumping off sideways and backwards---that's the entire point of the game engine. The story has never really been that important. I have played and gotten 100% sync on Unity, and if you put a gun to my face I really couldn't tell you the entire storyline. The ledge mechanics are god awful in Unity.
The reason that the fighting seems goofy is that they've added some new shit in there like the staggering blow, that you really have to use in order to not desyncronize in a crowd. They've removed the ability to really choose a fighting style, and in a lot of ways it's a lot less of a button masher. You are forced to use stun bombs and smoke bombs, use the quick fire abilities and whatnot. They've kept the enemy archetypes as well, so you can't approach every enemy the same. I like this change.
But they fucked the platforming mechanics all the way to Chinatown.

The clumsy platforming ruins it for me tbh. It's so bad I've got detected several times because he didn't jump when I pressed the controller to jump. It's probably another reason why the stealthy approach is so hard in this game
The story, as per usual Assassin's Creed, is hard to follow because you get so distracted by all the side activities that you forget what happens. That's ok though tbh, the side activities are often more interesting than the story itself. I love how packed with content and little stand-alone side-missions Unity is. The campaigns are never that long, so I'm glad for the extra bits.
Another thing I'm glad of in Unity is that, apart from those silly little rift missions, they've almost totally cut out all the modern shit. I really don't care for the modern stuff in AC. Especially now Desmond is dead, Desmond did sustain my interest enough to make it work, but now I really don't care. It frustrated me in Black Flag and Rogue whenever you were ejected from the Animus. I'm only here for the historical setting/story, couldn't care less about the pseudo-illuminati modern crap. All the modern characters (especially post-Desmond) seem really fucking annoying and one-dimensional too. Call me "numbskull" one more time...

I did like some of the present-day stuff in Revelations, though. Or maybe it was Brotherhood. Free running through some of the ruins that you are playing in the Animus, I like it. I did not like the Black Flag version, though. The post it notes, and QR Code tags, and hacking the mainframe minigames were shit. Especially the spinny ball maze. I regularly wanted to bisect my TV screen with that dumbassery. I'm here to drive a ship and cleave pirates with my cutlass. Leave me alone with this minigame shit.
Unity had too much. Reminded me of GTA: San Andreas. Too many collectibles, map too big. Too many side quests, too much reliance on the Unity Companion for the rift goals. I didn't like the hacking for weapon upgrades, I didn't like the difficulty of the Thief missions especially with the shitty sneaking ability. It was meh to me. But pretty.
