Uzzah was a victim of murder.

Can you imagine the reaction of the imaginary friend if the ark had fallen over and been damaged?

How many would it have slaughtered.

I actually heard a relatively new explanation for this silence today from a Christian.

OT God was very active trying to force people to do what he wanted. Silence is part of NT Gods new plan; he realized he couldn't force people to do what he wanted so now he just sits on the sidelines picking out the ones who do what he wants without being cattle prodded. They show they're loyal without being forced, meaning their loyalty is worth more this way.

Make of that what you will. I did have a few objections but I admit it was a rather refreshingly new explanation for the lack of smiting of San Francisco.

As the knowledge of humanity has increased, and science has developed, the Abrahamic god has become suspiciously more quiet.

Two thousand years ago he could wipe out entire people.  Now, he can appear on toast.

Suspicious, huh?

It would be but for the many miracles claimed in the Middle Ages.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

Where can I find info on this for it is my belief that theoretical communism may be a good way to change or governing body as a whole. Not tryin to freak anyone out, strictly research.

David decided to move the ark and used a new cart guided by two men, Uzzah and Ahio. When one of the oxen pulling the cart stumbled, Uzzah-naturally- put his hand on the ark. God, according to the story, killed Uzzah for trying to stop the ark from falling.

The bible describes god as being very angry because he tried to steady the ark. To Christians, why do you believe god punished Uzzah for trying to keep the ark from falling to the ground? I know that not every Christian on this site believes that the stories are literal. If you believe that this story is just an allegory then what is it teaching?

The meaning is the same as the Abraham and Isaac story in Genesis 22:

http://biblehub.com/genesis/22.htm

You are supposed to have blind obedience to God's commands, no matter what they are.  You are not supposed to be thinking for yourself and doing what you think best; you are supposed to just do as you are told.  No matter how capricious, evil, perverted, insane the command may be, you are supposed to obey the command no matter what.
No command from the Lord will ever be for anything other than the best. This is known through Faith first, then it is shown to you. People keep going back to this Abraham, Isaac thing all wrong. It is a testimony of Faith and that is all. Did he kill his son because God ordered? No. Did he kill his son at all? No. It is an example of faith and that is all.

Haw, do not fear comerade! Much as they might disagree with socialism I don't think even the most ardent republican here is going to freak over left wing politics here the same way they do elsewhere Tongue
As for where to start...Oooh, it's hard to say. Communism and to a greater extent socialism (which is wrongly used interchangeably with the former!) are not solid concepts, the communism of North Korea is a very different beast from Early Church Primitive Communism. I would reccomend something like http://www.amazon.com/Case-Socialism-Upd...+Socialism as a starting point for reasons to consider the viability of a socialist model.
Sadly what most people think of as communism (Stalin, Mao, Kim Il Sung) are in fact far further right wing and totalitarian than anything Marx or other socialist thinkers ever cooked up.

That explanation contradicts the idea that bible god knows everything in the past, present and future. The Christian god can't learn anything new because, according to Christian mythology, he already knows everything.

How does that contradict anything? Really just curious.
