Yeah I thought so too. Maybe the guy is a dick in his 'real', memorable life but he's a phantom of pure compassion when he's in superhero mode or whatever.

Eventually he learns some things about himself and becomes a good guy in normal life, and looses his superpowers or whatever because they're not longer needed - he becomes a normal 'super'hero.
