All the big critters are doomed.  Human population growth will crowd out everything else.

I don't think the forecast is that gloomy. Animal preservation has become a big thing around the world. I have a feeling that birth control will spread in Africa eventually also. The birth rate in many western nations has already fallen below the replacement level, so much that is become an economic problem in itself.
