Domestic animals are pets, and so are exotic/wild ones, whichever the reason or the goal of having them, provided you don't break the law and abuse animals. You probably know this, but careful experienced owners usually buy/acquire proper gear to simulate the natural environment and provide comfort to exotic pets, it's not like people are buying snakes and tarantulas because it's cool. I think it's a valid reason to protect your property and physical well being. Bees, hornets and wasps sting, it is natural to kill them if they break inside your house. My garden has lots of bees and I'm ok with it, they usually just go near flowers and I ignore them, but I wouldn't hassle myself with trying to capture one inside my room, considering I don't have any experience in doing so, I'd just kill it with my hand or something like that.(August 4, 2015 at 6:19 pm)Dystopia Wrote: I agree. Would you be ok with someone who owns exotic or wild pets (like snakes) feeding live prey like mice?
I'm not OK with someone owning exotic animals at all, since they aren't pets and are better off in a natural or at least controlled environment such as a good zoo provides. But I'm OK with feeding them life animals, since such is the way of life. Eat and be eaten.
I said I'm against killing without valid reason. Eating is a valid reason as is self defense or regulating an animal population. Just to give one example, just the other day I went to great lengths to capture a hornet in my bedroom and setting it free on the outside. It would have been easier to just spray it, but that's not me.
I'm against killing for so called sports.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you
