God won't speak to you if your are prideful
Proverbs 16:5 The Lord detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.
But if you are humble He will listen.
Psalm 51:17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
If you really want to speak to God He will make Himself available
Jeremiah 29:13 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
So here are the very words of God (Jesus)
John 3:19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
If you want to speak to God He has made Himself known through creation, the Bible, and His people. If you can not be faithful to listen to these first why Should God speak to you in any other way? Still if you reject these you will meet Him as a Judge and not a Savior Mark 14:62
