I'm sure that the amount of happiness religion brings is directly proportional to which religion is dominant in the area. Abrahamic religions tend to demonize and ostracize those who are different, so a christian is likely to be happier in USA than they are in Saudi Arabia.
It's less about religion, and more about being a part of the community who may be mostly religious. If religion makes you happy, though, go ahead. Just don't come after me for disagreeing.
