No, he doesn't give a crap about Humans. His favorite solution to any problem involves killing people. He wants you to be completely subservient to him, meaning he doesn't care what you think unless it lines up with what he thinks. He wants followers, but he's not motivated to ensure that at least most of the population of Earth follows him. He's happy to send most people to hell, which according to some denominations is eternal torture with fire.
The bible says for god so loved the world, but his actions towards people don't mesh with what he says. Followers of god concentrate on his words, and justify or ignore his actions. Others judge him by his purported actions if they even humor the idea that he exists at all. Which is still up for debate thousands of years after he started dictating to writers.
