This applies to a lot of things in the Bible and the Quran, so I'm bit tired of this "interpretation" argument. The most you can do to "interpret" these texts it leave out the bits you don't like. You can't re-word them, twist them, or pretend they have symbolic meaning that means advocating rape of virgin daughters actually means something else. For the most part, these texts are written plainly and there's no "interpretation" needed, it says exactly what it says.
When the Bible says this;
Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. 1 Corinthians 14:34
It is quite plainly saying "women must be in submission". You can't "interpret" (read: spin) that to mean something completely different when it is very clear about what it means. That's far from the most misogynistic quote from the Bible btw.
Damn, who is the hotty in your avatar?
Yo mama.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
