This was not directly by the Vatican but through seal to combat heresy ,it was the Spanish Inquisition

You say through "seal". Where did the "seal" come from? Sounds pretty Vatican to me. So the church didn't actually kill, they just sanctioned it. YEAH CHURCH and VATICAN!
