For myself I view the bible as an irrelevance;
If it were true it would be redundant, the claims made would be observable in the physical world around us and therefore there would be no need for the text.
I was taught in a Catholic primary school so that may be a hangover from that, insistence on biblical inerrancy certainly seems more a protestant characteristic.
Beyond that; Life's too ****ing short to waste on that BS.
