I had occasion to be out with this really uptight lady my family knows.
She attends the church we used to go to.

See, I promised to help one person, but then they couldn't make it,
and she offered to go in their place.

When I heard that it was her that I had to now help, I was like Homer Simpson:  "D'oh!"

but I was already committed to doing this, to help the first person, who wasn't to blame.

So even though I can't stand her, I went along with it.

she's insufferable...everything we can't stand in a Theist.

A judgement every five minutes.  A snide remark.  A well-intentioned warning.
Holier-than-thou BS.  Presumptuous questions that she seems to think I owe her an answer to.
Bragging about her own daughter's virginal saintliness. etc etc etc.

Finally, I had enough.  I had been saying "uh huh" "yeah" " I don't know"
just fending off her perpetual attacks, waiting for this unpleasantness to be over.

Whilst she and I were outside, in front of her friend's condo, on a busy street,
and she nattered away about church activities and how much better her family is, than mine,
for participating in them,

I suddenly remembered that it is absolutely legal in Ontario for women to go topless, out in public.

No one ever does it, except maybe during a heat wave, only on the very the occasional beach, here or there,

....but fuck it man, it's legal.

Without another word, I stripped off my top and bra, and just stood there in the chilly air,
nipples at attention, waiting for her church friends to come outside.

That took care of that.

So technically, I wasn't even really breaking the rules, ironically....I was exercising my legal rights.  HA
