More Bible study is needed here:
Everyone turn to 1st Corinthians, chapter 15
Quote:15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
One wonders what "scriptures" these are. The Gospels had not yet been written.
Quote:15:5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
What "twelve"? Judas was dead and Thomas didn't see the risen Jesus until 8 days after the resurrection according to the Gospel of John. That makes 10 as I count it.
Quote:15:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
Over 500, it seems. So we DO have 500 in the city at the time Jesus rose into the sky. They became just 120 a short time later.
Quote:15:7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
15:8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
So did the non-disciple apostles see Jesus in a vision in the same way Paul did? Were they also born too late?
Quote:15:9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
Again, one wonders what the chief prosecutor of the Jews was doing while Jesus was preaching heresy and driving the priests nuts.
Quote:15:12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
15:13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
15:14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
So there were Christians who denied that Jesus had come in the flesh and Christians who denied that Jesus had risen again. All this was within about three years of the supposed events? One wonders why there were believers who denied such obvious and recent realities.
Quote:15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. ...
15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Paul believed in a literal Adam and Eve. So much for the "it's just a metaphor".
Quote:15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
But it seems Paul didn't believe in the Trinity.
Quote:15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
Paul thought the rapture would occur within his lifetime.
