You are confusing the historical Jesus with the Jesus of the Bible. Most scholars accept He existed, was baptised and was cruicifed.

Except there's nothing anywhere that supports this. There is no mention of a guy named Jesus in any first hand historical accounts.

Like I said, there probably was a guy named Jesus. But he was certainly not divine.

But if Jesus was God, then He could come back, couldnt He?

I believe the Bible is God's Word. I question how much of it is God's Word.

The NT was written for a Jewish sect who believed in the soon return of Jesus, they were not expecting this world to go for another 2000 years!

Well, if the Bible is the work of a deity that people use as a base for their morality, the fact that the Bible permits slavery is a HUGE problem!

How is it? Did God or people write the Bible?

People wrote the Bible. But many people believe it was written by "God". And they base their morality on this book. So, if "God" tells us in his book that owning slaves is okay, these believers have a huge problem to reconcile.
