Perhaps this one is the sinful teen needing correction by the elders story line. The parents are charged with manslaughter, rather than murder at this point, so maybe it wasn't their intent to kill their son; just whoop some sense into him.

A joint investigation by the New Hartford police and the New York State Police determined that a second victim, Leonard's 17-year-old brother had also been assaulted. He was in serious condition at a local hospital, a press release said.
