Chad -
You know, I feel bad for getting so sharp with you, just then. Look, I know you try to be a decent guy, even when arguing with us. However, you crossed a line you may not realize is there, and it irked me to the point I felt the need to retaliate in kind. That's not a valid reason to do so, but lately I have been feeling pretty irritated by a host of smug Christians who spend their time calling us arrogant, etc.
Try to look at it like this: atheists don't have churches. We have few social groups or other similar organizations because the only thing we really have in common is that we don't think gods are real. This place is as close as we come to having a sanctuary and social group similar to your church organizations. Just as your church welcomes outsiders to come in and listen, and even to ask hard questions or participate in the social events, there's a limit to what people will accept in terms of badgering the people in that church with aggressive and/or disrespectful tones when they come as a guest/outsider to that place.
More than churches do, I think, we welcome outsiders and different points of view, but there's STILL A FUCKING LIMIT on the abuse we're willing to take from people who come here to attack us because they don't like how we view their personal The Only Right Truth From God.
I refer, of course, to the Jains. Endless harassment from those guys! But all you other theists are pretty bad about it, too.

A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
