yes ask him about the verse about eating babies , im sure he will just say its not to be taken literally isnt it interesting that some things are interpreted literally and other verses are just symbolic and everyone has a different opinion about what is literal and what is not to be taken literally ( old testament teaching to discriminate against gays literal both then and today, old testament teaching about eating babies (or shrimp) is symbolic and/or just specifically for the audience at that time ) if interpretation was at least consistent maybe it could be taken more seriously
