Having it at the bottom as well would help me, especially on my iPad. It's hard for me to physically reach the top of the screen (and the browser back button, for that matter). So, it's an accessibility/convenience thing for me.
You do know that with a precise tap at the top of the browser on the iPad you will automatically scroll to the top of the page? It's not the most convenient thing given it's hard to get it right sometimes, but it beats the hell out of swiping back to the top.
Please re-read the bolded.
EDIT: Note that such a change shouldn't be hard to make. Given that bottom thread breadcrumb navigation is standard in most forums, it's likely a matter of just changing a forum setting. If not, then some form of copying the breadcrumb nav code (or just the results) and pasting it in the right spot should suffice. I've worked on PHP apps for nearly a decade. This kind of thing should be fairly trivial in terms of difficulty, if not time.
I understand that staff, especially the mods, are busy. I also understand that they're not required to fulfill my request. That said, from a design/UX POV, it's weird that it's not there, and it affects how well I can use the site on the whole. It's a small QoL addition that would help me, and likely others with mobility issues, out.
