Yeah, it's impossible to argue with someone that insists that 1 + 1 + 1 = 1.
And I think he meant "Epicurus" not "Socrates." Christians always insist that the dilemma doesn't apply to them, usually by a simple wave of the hand. They try to weasel their way out of it by defining god in special ways, as you've seen. It's weak sauce.
