Guns make acts of terrorism easier to perpetrate. Thats not to say that eliminating guns will eliminate terrorism but it will greatly lessen the liklihood of it happening and succeeding.
However, given enough time such things are bound to happen eventually. The goal of complete prevention is unrealistic, its simply the stars we shoot for while we attain lower frequency and lower severity of incidents. I think thats worth the attempt, don't you?
