Either way, I don't see it as God working like a wizard with a magic wand, inflicting people with it for some kind of purpose. I see it as Him allowing the natural course of things to happen, just as He did so when we evolved. And I explained in my other post why I do not believe this makes him an evil being.
You seem to be implying the universe is something distinct from god. But wouldn't you say god created everything. Then, he basically is everything. We don't live in the universe then, we live in God. Everything that is evil is god. It couldn't be anything else but God, since he created everything. He knew what the natural course of things would be when he created it. So either god is a very bored dude on his laptop, playing a very cool game called Universe, reached the Terra/human age stage of the game, or he's a product of imagination. Which one of those is more likely?
