Logically, since there is no evidence for the existence of god, one must understand that faith enters the equation.
Personal experience and faith seem to hold hands, and I distinctly remember you stating at one point that you understood that personal experience is not the same for everyone, and that it is something that can only be personal.
Since personal experience and faith are not evidence, by what logic does one retain a strong belief in something?
Comfort, I am guessing.
I could be wrong.
Prove me wrong.
Personal experience can be evidence for that person though. Not the type of evidence that I could show to the whole world to "prove" His existence to everyone, but enough for me personally to hold the position that I do.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
