Ask any mods or admins if you're right. You made first contact. This person was minding her own business not bothering you. If that's what makes for a scammer, I guess we are all scammers.
NO I did NOT, that person came to a website I was already on, they made first contact. PLEASE tell me your reading comprehension isn't that bad.

Coming onto a website you're on is not making contact.
Also, just want to point out that I've seen plenty of scammers who use male identities. The Nigerian scam letters and FBI phishing letters in my email spam folder are invariably male. I see no reason to believe make names wouldn't be used on forums either.
Look, you think you did a good thing, but you need to understand that in the absence of hard evidence, there are many other interpretations of the situation, and in most of them, you look like a creep or a busybody. I don't blame the person for blocking you one bit. Females online have to deal with a lot more bullshit than us guys do in terms of creeps hitting them up out of nowhere, and no doubt you looked to her exactly like one of those guys.
I have just as much evidence for my interpretation as you do (which is to say, none), so please don't get all histrionic on me. I might just block you if you do, and then you will have outed another "scammer".

Your actions as you described them would definitely creep any woman I know out. You need to learn how to assess your own behavior from the point of view of others.
Here's a question: how many groups other than your atheist group does this person belong to? What was this person's Facebook join date?
