A thinking puposeful God who created creatures like us. I believe he expects us to behave in a certain way, and everyone knows what I am talking about. We all have the monkey on our back trying to persuade us in different directions. But you guys believe this is from evolution. I simply believe their are two facets to life. 1. In the end, what have you done for your fellow man. 2. Have you learned how to love. Are you full of love, do you love yourself, and have you passed that love onto others. Its mushy, but I believe this is the key to life. Not that terrible things don't happen, so no, I do not have any answers or know the details. Evidence? As I said, if there was, there would be no evil, everyone would get along. But you can not get free will to work properly unless there is no evidence. With it we would all behave acourdingly. This is hard to do in a post!!!
I asked why you are convinced that a god exists, and you wrote a paragraph telling me what you believe.
I already know, in general terms, what you believe. But I want to know why you believe. Why are you convinced?
I live my life with the desire to have as many true beliefs as possible, and as few false beliefs. There are methods that are proven to achieve that on a consistent basis. That method is basing ones beliefs on demonstrable evidence, reasoned argument and valid and sound logic.
Believing just because you "simply believe" is not a path to truth. It is no different than gullibility. Same goes for believing based on faith.
Simon, that last post was not intended for you. I would love to explain exactly why I believe what I do. But first I had to tell you what I believe. I need time to try to formulate a lifes worth of thought to be able to put it into a post.
