Quote:First, some important ones have been listed. Excuse, if we don't compile the whole history of the last 600 years for you. One can expect that you at least have a look at the last century. As in books. We all took that step. Some of us, being old enough, also saw what happened within the last 40 years with our own eyes. For example, how the Palestinian movement turned from nationalist leftist to dogmatic religious. The reasons for that are pretty obvious and one would think, they are still in public memory.
I think, this has been answered as nauseam. I'm actually tired of repeating what so many said before. Noone defends religion. We tend to defend people, if they are unjustly thrown under the same blanket without looking at their individuality and their differences. And we tend to do that with all groups of people that are attacked in a similar way. It's just that the fashion right now is muslim bashing.
Thank you for confirming what I've suspected - as Anime has observed, you are a contrarian who likes to fuck with other people's heads! You hate everyone, and would use anybody in any group, no matter what they have in common, if you see an opportunity to beat them up on anything. People like you are the reason why it was so late in life before I was able to accept my own atheism, not wanting to be like those dickheads.
I have followed this thread from the beginning, and no sensible alternative cause has been presented at all. Everything which you can cite boils down to Muslim fundamentalism. Oh, the West hurt them, as if Westerners have never been harmed by other cultures before, so they've been throwing a tantrum ever since the Crusades! Oh, we exploited the ME for oil and then more of them had honest jobs instead of making excuses to kill each other even more than they have this past century, and we're the bad guy for that! The opportunists among them rallied up fundamentalism, and then girls could not show their faces outside. There are Christians in Africa which have similar problems where they've gone fundamentalist, but you are really overreaching to say it's the same. Even during the Spanish Inquisition, they had to invent "demonic possession" to justify killing for heresy or blasphemy.
You probably do know a lot, but I'm done discussing anything with such a parochial dick!
Mr. Hanky loves you!
