Unless your mind is actually unable to grasp the concepts involved, you should be perfectly able to lose your religiosity/belief in God, no matter who you are.Well..you clearly don't like football..but you don't see horses winning heismans, lol..so obviously it takes a human brain to win the game, it takes our intellect, lol. "Intellectual" endeavors get a pedestal placed under them as though they were something other than the use of an organ or collection of organs...different, fundamentally, from winning a footrace in that context. They aren't..and just as we aren't all equally equipped to win a footrace we are not all equally equipped to reach any given conclusion, right or wrong.
We do consider gods of the past gods. And I still don't understand what other form you expect religion to take. It can't take any other. This is it for it. We get rid of this, and we're rid of it for good. That's what I'm saying.

Holding the position that god belief is a natural extension of how our brains work, how we think - doesn't mean that either Jorg or I believe that gods are real..that they are -more- than how our brains work, how we think.
@steve. OFC there are more and more each year..there are more and more human beings each year..by default that's going to mean more believers. That's hardly surprising, hardly a revelation. Here, in the US..it's not something I have to deal with. There are fewer and fewer believers year after year in my local area - regardless of any global numbers. The tide of religiosity and belief comes in, it goes out.
