Well for me it just conflicted with what i liked and it didn't work, family members also didn't have all or even any answers about the universe and just pointed to the bible.
Got depressed in primary school and asked god for help, things didn't get better.
Got to high school and things went pretty well, thanked god and then everything went to hell.
Dropped out of high school and watched TV all day (mostly discovery channel)
Started home schooling and got internet, looked up why god wasn't helping me (also found out that there were other religions besides Christianity, just assumed everyone was christian by default)
Read up about some other religions and things i found interesting like the universe, found that the "holy" books of other religions were similar to the bible so i assumed everyone believed in the same god but the holy books must be man made because of all the errors and contradictions.
Started debating (or more like ignorantly babbling about stuff i don't know) on a local site and found allot of atheist, i took up the position that god engineered the big bang to create all of us and everything.
Got pretty much slaughtered and fell into depression.
Started thinking why a god is necessary, does he ever interact with humanity after creating the universe?
Asked family members for opinions (they are deeply religious), got answers like "just believe and everything will be ok", "Do you want to go to hell?, don't you want to see grand pa in heaven one day?"
Started finding the whole idea of god amusing and just slowly started cutting the idea of religion out of my life, had a long talk with my Dad and it seems he was a bit of a closet atheist. He was very interested in how i lost my belief on my own.I've never had such an enjoyable conversation with my dad before, we were on pretty bad terms before since he wasn't sure what was going on in my head in my youth (i made allot of mistakes, would always speak or do something without thinking, i would also sometimes overthink things like how people would react if i say this or that)
My brothers didn't really give a damn about religion though, they don't care if they're christians or atheist as long as it doesn't interfere with what they like doing.
Mom is the same as my brothers but she still has some belief in god due to her family being more religious then my dads side.
Basically i am agnostic, i live my life not caring if there is a god or not but i highly doubt there is one and if there is one then it isn't one from any of the religions on earth.
