For the record I can't decide whether I think ultimately decency or honesty is more important. As I said, both are massively important and it depends..
Of course, to have both is preferable... but to have one of either is better than to have neither.
I can imagine cases where it wouldn't be preferable to have both at the same time, or one of them in particular. But as a general rule, I agree - it's better to be both honest and decent.
Just to be sure I understand you, though. Why do you value decency?
