It is only silly humans who make these dramatic simulations in which we are tested. It is freaking ridiculous.
I've tested the staff enough to know they're reasonable enough to hear you out if they perceive you making a mistake. Of course, they're still people, and you'll still have to concede invalid points sometimes and employ a bit of diplomacy if you want to stay on their good side, but it's better than nothing.
