I don't feel mistreated now. But there was times where it was really bad in the past. For example at cadet camp when I was 16 I had big woman grab my dick on the bus because she thought it be a funny joke. I had one job last year where my manager found out and did everything in here power to get me fired after my friend complained about another employee telling customers I was mentally handicapped. So I'm sorry if I popped off a little on this thread, just the first comment from mtl really irked me.
And I'm not sure how many times I have to repeat that I lament my inadequate, poorly-phrased comment.
The ironic part is that I do not consider myself a feminist, per se, at all;
Of course I think everyone deserves equality,
but I have shrunk from labeling myself as a Feminist
because I'm saddened by how much male-bashing I've seen in their ranks;
and, if anything, I am somewhat sympathetic to the Anti-Misandry Movement
because I feel bad for fathers and other men who have been wrongly accused
by vicious women who made false claims of abuse.
There are both good women...and man-haters...in the ranks of the Feminist movement;
and likewise,
there are both good men...and misogynists...in the ranks of the MRM.
Yet, unlike you, LemonVariable, I am a female,
and have usually just sucked it up whenever I've encountered chauvinism or misogyny in my life,
BECAUSE I don't like to sound like a victim.
You seemed to fixate on "women on TV" for some reason,
which I only mentioned as a passing example;
and also on domestic abuse,
which I didn't mention at all;
(However: it is ludicrous to me that you think women are paid equally to men in most professions,
and you claim that fact has been debunked...I don't know what you've been reading,
but it's the opposite of what I've been reading, and the opposite of my experience,
and of the experience reported by many women of my acquaintance).
Overall, I hear you doubling-down and replying with very heated vitriol against feminism,
you seem reluctant to acknowledge ANY validity to that cause or their claims,
indeed, you seem prepared to lay blame on that cause for much harm.
so, okay....I've really touched a nerve here.
I'm really really regretting that I so carelessly posted and raised so much ire in you,
but I've tried to clarify my statements and take accountability for the faults in them;
but in reply, you've only doubled-down:
you seem determined to only see the downside of Feminism,
and equally determined to only see me one way, as well.
Fine. I know where you stand, now.
I apologized for the wrong in what I said;
But I'm not going to back down on my good points
because you're angry at Feminism.
Especially since I don't even consider it as "my" cause, per se.
It sounds like once I've offended you, there is no going back.
So be it.
