You have the douchy pick up artist, the dumb jock, the pick up artist, the thug, and that is just off the top of my head. Want more women in writing? Cut the I'm a victim bullshit and get girls to pursue their own goals. Be it writing or having a family or being a fucking astronaut. Women can be whatever they want just as much as a man can, and the last thing they need is a bunch of people infantilizing them and saying they are perpetual victims.
Also, I can think of a number of tv shows that do not follow those dumb characterizations at all. I.E star trek Voyager, star trek deep space nine, battle star Galactica, firefly, forever. And that is just what I can name off the top of my head. You have to remember TV shows use characterizing extensively and get they often appeal to the lowest common denominator.

This is self-contradictory for LemonVariable to draw attention to how Autistic people are stigmatized,
yet call feminists victims.

Women are still paid less than men,
still oppressed in many parts of the world,
still having their genitals mutilated,
and right here, in North America, we also face a growing problem of human trafficking of young women;

...yet he wants to dismiss any feminists as "victims",
while holding up Autistic people as unfairly persecuted

...and in the same breath claim that it is unsavoury for different groups to compete
for the title of 'Most-Persecuted'.


Now, that addresses LemonVariable's self-contradiction;

But since you've jumped in with your two cents, Pool,
let me pose you a different question:

Do you consider the "Black Lives Matter"  movement as "whining"?

or does it absolutely have legitimacy, given how black people are still treated today?

Or what about LGBT Pride?

Lots of people accuse them of whining, too.

No I said they vicitmize other women, which they do, go read the huge amount of feminist rhetoric is claiming women are victims of "insert here". It is fucking infantilizing, as many of the women I know are just as capable adults as men.

I don't want to dismiss feminists at all. What I want is for them to cut all this "woa is me" bullshit and focus on real issues before the movement is discredited entirely. Yep, although never diagnosed, I suspect I have Asperger's myself, and life can get quite unfair for me given that this social world was "made" best for "neurotypicals", but I can simultaneously accept that women still have it pretty bad compared to men. Like you say, we should all be in this together rather than opposing each other.

I don't feel mistreated now. But there was times where it was really bad in the past. For example at cadet camp when I was 16 I had big woman grab my dick on the bus because she thought it be a funny joke. I had one job last year where my manager found out and did everything in here power to get me fired after my friend complained about another employee telling customers I was mentally handicapped. So I'm sorry if I popped off a little on this thread, just the first comment from mtl really irked me.

Wow, that's a shitty thing what both the woman on the bus and the manager did to you. Fuck, I don't think I personally had it that bad, but sometimes I just feel quite lonely while trying to socialize with people. People around me seem to know how to say things certain ways and express themselves properly. For me, it's like I need some guidance on how to manage myself that flexibly in the social world.
