I too see 'horror' as a very broad category. Most viewers categorize Cronenberg's Crash as either pornography or anti-pornography, but the motivations and arousals of the characters are so disturbing, the movie is in fact an entry in the horror category too. The 'universal' character of the Canadian city chosen for the location also works in this regard, these people he portrays could be everywhere . . . .
