I have not found god because I do not see any physical evidence for him. (If you have any besides personal expirences and eyewitness accounts please state them and your sources.).Just guessing you must be young, not that it's a judgement or anything. I used to suffer from severe depression which resulted in anxiety, but as you grow it will probably subside. It's amazing what we learn as we grow. You might find the seven year life cycles interesting at least:
OCD Is and anxiety disorder, its intrusive thoughts that bring anxiety, discomfort, or doubt that people use compulsions to relieve.
I have taken time to explore near death experiences. There is a chemical called DMT that gets released when we are near death and it can be taken as a recreation drug and people describe it similar to religious or spiritiual things.
Never heard of the guy, I will look further into it.

I'm definitely familiar with the whole DMT explanation, but after my own personal research that doesn't explain everything. Edgar Cayce was known as the sleeping prophet. Probably the last person I should bring up on this forum haha, but an interesting person to learn about or be aware of. I'm sure I'll get a lot of shite for posting his name.
For me personally even though everyone here will say it's bravo sierra, the NDE is the best evidence of God. Especially since there are hundreds of stories of atheists coming in contact with Jesus, and God, or visiting various spiritual realms. The common theme people here react with is that they are lying, or delusional. Obviously because they want to protect their belief system.

Don't give up. God loves us all too much, and only wants what's best. The last thing you should do is turn your back, because your senses can't percieve his existence. The truth is there to find if you want to find it.
I am young, Depression seems common among younger people though.
I've already heard about the 7 year cycle, very interesting. I think Vsauce talked about it.
Well, DMT has been known to produce similar effects as "seeing god" and we have a gland to produce it, so it must have some evolutionary basis. As for Atheist coming in to contact with god, Christians have come into contact with Muhammad or Allah. Your point?
If god loves me he was so perfect to make me mentally ill. If he wants whats best then he shouldn't have made me this way and maybe he shouldn't take such pains to conceal his existence. I don't understand that phrase at the end, please elaborate.

Re-read the sentence. He's saying that preachers are like used car salesmen, not that you're a preacher
And pay no mind to Scooby's ridiculous NDE crap. Stories from obvious non-skeptics who don't understand biology (if they're not simply liars, which has been the case before) aren't very compelling, regardless of whether or not they once labelled themselves atheist. He's been trying to push the tired "They were once atheists, but now have found god! Aren't you impressed/doubting yourselves?" thing since he got here, and is likely trying it in this thread because you present an easy target. You know Christians - they simply cannot abide anyone attempting to leave the flock.
Misunderstood that, sorry.
