Sounds like a good plan regarding your brother. I don't know if it would be possible to request you be not home schooled anymore because of the way they are treating you.

This is why I oppose home schooling, because it places far too much power in the hands of the homeschooler regarding what the students can learn, and will never be adequately regulated while it takes place in the US. The fundamental tenet of public education is that a decent one is every child's RIGHT, goddammit! How can they be guaranteed that right when helot helicopter Mom from out of the fantasy of Hell which she has herself created has the veto on that? Being of the minor status, kids don't legally get to make their decisions, but if they have the legal right to an education then they should be given the right to enroll by request in a public school, which should be legally binding on the parents to abide with, without interference. Because it's a fucking right!

Ok, the crowded and noisy classrooms aren't best for every student, and I get that - it caused me hopeless anxiety and depression too when I was there, in a world with no decent mental health understanding, where dinosaurs roamed the halls and our principle was a 6-foot weasel.

So when homeschooling is a must, I still see no excuse for allowing stupid, half-educated and totally unqualified parents to decide on curricula. There's just absolutely no excuse for this when adults are attending college online! I really don't think the development of standard online curricula for homeschooled children is in any way too much to demand of society - what an embarassing shame this is on America that kids don't have this!
