I take that family personally having spent almost a decade living in that city. I really had not payed much attention to them prior to attending a different college in that area. Quickly learned the history of bullying the Falwell family did to that city, even long before I went there. Even the right wing in that area who go to different churches hate that family. Falwell spent his time selling xenophobia of anyone not his sect. That asshole at one point tried to bully the city into getting a mountain name changed to "Liberty Mountain".

Hitchens was absolutely right "If you gave that man an enema you could bury him in a matchbook".
