Yeah, in a properly-run society with limitations on guns, some people will still find guns and cause damage. But you have to look at the greater good: how many deadly shootings have there been in France relative to the US, and who are the shooters?
Okay, so a couple dozen have been killed by terror attacks in France. Hundreds are killed in the US by accident, by design, or by cop. And why are American cops so fucking crazy? It's because they are trained to assume that every citizen is ready to pull out a fucking gun, and therefore to default to deadly force.
So yeah, if there were terrorists, and a trained government agent with a pistol had been present, things might have turned out differently. If, on the other hand, 50% of French people had AK-47s, then you'd see a massive increase in the overall gun deaths.
My point is-- fuck the anecdotes and go with the statistics.
