Quote:Among white evangelical Republican voters nationally, Trump earned the support of 37 percent, while Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, whose father is a pastor and has played a key role in recruiting faith leaders to support his son, is at 20 percent. In the same survey conducted the previous week, Cruz registered 9 percentage points higher. Below the top two contenders, Ben Carson earned 11 percent among evangelicals, and Marco Rubio took 10 percent.http://www.politico.com/story/2016/01/tr...oll-218210

Evangelican appears to mean racist, xenophobic, paronoid, and jinogoistic.
No, she rails against Trump even among her hyper-conservative friends. She has not a racist bone in her body, and has a pretty decent grasp on history... she recognizes the fascist rhetoric for what it is.
Trump's values are in no way aligned with those of evangelicals, and I think the poll reflects the power of media and a non-religious agenda of hyper-conservatives to vote for anyone who will promise to "make America great again", since the whole WASP world is vanishing with time, and they know it... or at least, they sense it.
Correlation is not causation, though. It may be that a large number of frightened, poor, working-class WASPs are willing to overlook his racist rants, or not to recognize that they are in fact racist (white privilege in action), seeing it as a modern-day priest (money-maker) of Capitalism "calling out the blame". That's part of what makes it fascist... fascism is a right-wing ideology. It may be that a large number of racists, or at least those who think this country was better when it looked like Mayberry (in their minds, anyway), are also evangelicals.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.
