Stop insulting people who have mental retardation. They are much, much smarter than you and you're giving them a bad name. I should know. My 20 year old with Downs syndrome is 1000 times smarter than you.

I made no bones about my personal back ground, nor have i tried to hide all that I personally struggled with academically. Even if the word Retarded has fallen out of vogue it still accurately describes where I came from (Illiterate/Dyslexic/Learning disabled/SLD etc..) and if you were to open your eyes (or maybe you can't see from your high horse) I did not insult anyone, I used the word to describe myself you self righteous bung. So whether you like it or not, whether you have a Downs kid or not my use of the word is for me to decide, not you.

I didn't pull any card. You know as well as I do exactly what you were referring to when you made the remark. Quit twisting shit to suit your own agenda because it makes you look like a fool. It is clear that anyone can see by your writing style that you have at least average, if not, above average intelligence. There is nothing slow about your intellect. Furthermore, being illiterate or dyslexic is not an indicator of being "retarded". I'm illiterate in Italian. Doesn't mean that I'm "retarded". My fiancee is dyslexic, but he knows college algebra. Doesn't mean that he's "retarded".
You used the word as an intentional dig on yourself, which in turn, is a dig on people who actually have MR. And because I called you out on it, you're now trying to move your goalposts. And no - I don't like it. And yes - it's for the exact reason that BECAUSE I have a 20 year old with Down syndrome, who's cognitive functioning is the same as that of a second grader, I'm gonna call you out on it because, again, you insult people who actually do have MR. So yes, when you use it in an intentional, derogatory, manner, whether towards yourself or someone else, I will decide to bring it up. This isn't for you to tell me what I can or cannot discuss and in no way implies that I'm being "self righteous" about it. I'm simply pointing out your ignorance.
