Maybe it would be interesting to you to read some historical accounts - there were many times in the past when people had the uncanny feeling that they were quickly steering towards the End Times. Jesus (or rather, the authors behind the literary figure) thought it was going to be over any day now. During the plagues and wars of the 1600s, there was a widespread belief that the end times were near, and they had real problems, with people dying in droves left and right.
I hear you, but I still look at these days differently. Today, humans have the ability to blow up the whole earth, human caused climate change could cause an extinction of humans, human polluting is going to cause massive animal extinctions, and so on. Sure, people have always predicted the end of the world. Now just seems to be more realistic. But min could be right, it could just be a coincidence
