Maybe a small handful that you've personally met or known when compared to the millions and millions of people that live in America? Yeah - that small number is just that. Small. You cannot lump everyone or nearly everyone in the same category as the people you happened to have met or known. That isn't fair. A few bad apples doesn't spoil the entire bunch.(March 24, 2016 at 12:57 pm)Mathilda Wrote:(March 24, 2016 at 12:19 pm)KUSA Wrote: Very few people actually want to play the system and live on benefits. Bullshit! I have met, not heard of but met, lots of people that are scamming the system.
I know people that claim to have mental issues that are actually fine and have admitted it to me. They get a crazy check every month.
I knew a guy years ago that had someone break his leg with a bat. He sued an insurance company claiming that he fell down a staircase because of a carpet seam that tripped him. Then he went on disability because the damage to his leg was worse than what he anticipated and he couldn't walk right afterwards.
I worked with a fellow in the Navy that had a minor shoulder problem that was fixed but kept complaining about it so he could get a medical discharge and disability.
There are so many cases like this. I don't have to read about them on the Internet, I have met them face to face.
And I too, can say the same, that I have met a few people who have taken advantage of the system. But there are also more people that are taking responsibility for their lives. I know at least ten times as many of those, as I do of the scammers.
And getting angry at the small numbers of people who are scamming the government is a waste of time when you could be spending just as much energy getting angry at the huge numbers of corporations that ship jobs overseas, taking away employment from people here.
Really, can we get this topic back on track now?
