I suppose there is not a correct one as you state in the sense of one correct linear application with no deviation. The intent and not the practice would be the metric by what is deemed correct or incorrect in many cases. I have read that in regards to sin that what is sinful for one is not necessarily the same for another. If you believe a practice to be wrong, then its is. That does not imply that if one believes something to be ok, then it is not sinful.
