If someone says they hate what you think and they find it horrible and objectionable and stupid, you're likely to feel like they think that about you too.
The category error is their own issue.
The ability to take criticism without getting hurt is a crucial part of adulthood.
Of course, this assumes that the criticism is cogent, rational, and neutral in tone.
My point is that being shit at accepting criticism is a human fault not some kind of theist issue. People struggle with it across the board and many theists don't struggle with it at all.
