Indeed, but it's not their fault,unlike the mass cognitive dissonance which is the US gun culture.
An attempt was made in 1959 to switch to driving on the right.The change was to be introduced gradually. In the first week,those with number plates ending with an even number were to switch to driving on the right----for some reason, the switch was less than an outstanding success,possibly due to the 20,000 road deaths. The idea was quietly dropped after only a week.
