How many steps does it take before you consider its not suicide?
walk in front a train? drive a car that you know will run out of petrol and stop in front of a train? Get a lift with a person knowing the car will run out of petrol in front of a train?
In my opinion it is not accidental if you know the final outcome.
According to the book the Jesus character new the outcome before setting the events in motion.
I think it then comes down to intent ... if you intend to take/give your own life its suicide.
I can accept that if a woman shoots herself so her child gets her heart for transplant, its a self-sacrifice, but its still suicide ...
The difference between the Jesus character is he gave his life (according to the story) with no benefactors other than his delusion ....
