Obama had nothing to do with it.
Quote:I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain. And it took many months to run this thread to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we could located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside Pakistan. And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice.
Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Pakistan.
They don't call him "Commander in Chief" for nothing. He directly authorized and ordered actions that lead to Osama's death.
He doesn't collect evidence and put his life on the line to find terrorists. Sure, he may have authorized it, but that is the bulk of his involvement. He was briefed on the lead by other men with information collected by other men. He gave orders to other men to carry out a potentially deadly mission. Sure, he said yes, but my point is that he should not get more attention or credit for getting bin Laden than the men who actually did it.
Quote:Actually, if he did what he said he was going to do, none of those men who killed bin Laden would have been overseas to do it.

Yeah, maybe one of the things he said he was going to do. Troops home by '08, troops home by '09, troops home by 2010, and on and on. It is not surprising. Presidents always contradict themselves.
Listen, I am not bashing Obama here. I am simply making a point that he is not in the dirt. The guys in the dirt are the ones that make stuff happen. The guys who collect intel from the guys in the dirt make things happen. Obama listens to them and agrees with what they suggest or he disagrees. Do you think he organized the attack? Do you think he would have the slightest idea how to arrange an operation by a 20+ man SEAL team?
