None of those guys had secret god-powers that everyone feared and had to suppress knowledge of, Min-dear.

Another myth to dispose of is the notion that scribbling monks kept "knowledge alive" in the Dark Ages. They copied and recopied tedious xtian drivel. It wasn't until the Crusades that Western Europe reacquired some idea of what had been lost through contact with the Arabs.
The church only gave a shit about documents which supported their silly superstitions which is why the interpolated Josephus survived while the history of Justus of Tiberius was allowed to rot away.
