Trump undoubtedly knows he could keep the attention of his core electorate for much longer after losing the election, and stay on the marginal national scene and make a lot more money selling books and giving speeches in the bargain, if he had claimed all along that the election was rigged, instead of claiming it as an ex post excuse for losing.
While trump is commonly recognized to be the most ignorant, egotistical and stupid person to head a major party ticket in perhaps all American history, I think what is often overlooked is the fact that he is also by an even larger margin the most cynical man ever to head a major party ticket.
This is quite fitting for a party which has become the most cynical ever to rule the house or the senate in American history.
