Unfortunately not even when they allow the British public a choice in naming a science ship and the leading choice of name is Boaty McBoatface. Because you can bet, if they did, the British public most certainly would find it hilarious to name a warship HMS Cuddleboat.
The British warship with most submarine kills was called HMS Pansy.
