I don't know how anyone could seriously think a person would choose to remain depressed if there was such a simple solution. You might as well tell an amputee to "just grow another arm".
Well, no, it's not that simple, nor am I saying it is. It's still hard to even do that. Like you said earlier, depression is like fighting with a part of yourself, this is what I'm saying as well, and this "get over it" stuff, is not meant to ridicule depression victims, but the depression itself, the part you're fighting against. You have to treat it like it's nothing until it works. At least, that's part of my method.
And once again, I am depressed even now, but I would say this getting over it attitude helps a ton. If I didn't have it, I'd be much worse right now.
